​Dear RMS Families,

As we are quickly approaching the holiday season, we are reminded of the needs of others. As a school, we would like to support families from our RMS community who struggle to make ends meet – a fact that is especially highlighted at this time of the year.  

From November 29-December 17, we are having a “Gift Card Blitz”, where we are inviting students and staff to bring in gift cards of any dollar domination. These will be collected and distributed to RMS families in need. In an effort to support local this holiday season, should you wish to contribute, please keep these local vendors in mind when purchasing gift cards. Small businesses are struggling to keep afloat. By purchasing a gift card from a local business, you are creating a win-win situation for both the business and a family that could use a little help from a friend. Also, if you do not have an opportunity to purchase a gift card but would still like to contribute, we will gladly accept monetary donations to purchase the gift cards on your behalf.

Reinforcing charitable values, encouraging support and participation, and showing empathy towards others demonstrates to students that they are part of a larger community. As members of that community, they have the responsibility to seek out opportunities to help those in need. This is one such way.
